Abstract
Rapid adaptation occurs in adult rats exposed to anoxia at low temperatures. This enables the animals to tolerate extreme anoxia (32 mm Hg pressure of O2) at various temperatures (14-31°C) for a period more than 40 times longer than unadapted controls. © 1949, Sage Publications.
